Music

I enjoy playing and listening to (and watching) music (performances). I play several musical instruments, but I am most comfortable with the electric guitar. Here is a (not complete) list of some of my most influential (and favourite) players, in no particular order:

Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, John Petrucci, Julian Lage, Paul Gilbert, Kirk Fletcher, Tom Misch, John Mayer, Ted Greene, Gary Moore, David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Chris Cain, Joey Landreth, Chris Buck, Mateus Asato, George Harrison, Molly Miller, Nick Johnston, …

Recording

As a (mostly) bedroom/livingroom guitarist, I occasionally dabble in recording. I use a mix of tools: Ableton Live with BIAS FX Amp, BIAS FX Amp with Direct Aux, or just my phone recording from my amps and pedals. Here are some of my YouTube uploads:

  • Jimi Hendrix is a big influence on me, and “Little Wing” was one of the first songs that got me hooked on guitar. Here’s my take on that famous intro: video
  • I stumbled upon a video of someone playing Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” on a vintage Gibson SG on YouTube, and I was IMPRESSED. Decided to give a shot myself; no, I don’t have a 60’s SG: video
  • It was a sunny Sunday afternoon at the end of summer, and had a random jam session inspired by one of John Mayer’s songs: video
  • Neo-soul saw a resurgence in popularity around 2020, most likely (partly) due to TikTok and guitarists posting short video performances. Kazuki Isogai is one of those modern social-media guitarists who likes to post. Here I am playing one of his compositions: video
  • The Telecaster is such a versatile guitar. From jazz a la Ted Greene, Julian Lage,… to rock, it can handle it all. Here’s a snippet of me playing Hendrix’s “Foxey Lady” on my 2013 American Standard Tele. Bought it for €850 from a little music shop in Figeac, France: video

Sport

I also enjoy playing and watching football (the kind where you play a ball with feet). I support Liverpool FC.
